On August 29 2016, at 1:54 pm, 22nd District Officers responded to a Police Radio for a person shot in the area of 19th Street and Cecil B. Moore Avenue. When Police arrived they located the victim, a 23 year-old male, on the 1900 block of Oxford Avenue suffering from a gunshot wound to the back and chest and was transported to Hahnemann Hospital.
Surveillance video recovered from the area depicts an unknown black male approaching the victim from the 1700 block of Gratz Street to the 1800 block of Cecil B. Moore Avenue then to 19th Street armed with a handgun. When the victim and witness were on the 1600 block of 19th Street the suspect approached the victim from behind firing multiple times into his back. After the shooting the suspect fled in the same direction of approach. Both suspects where last seen walking north on the 1700 block of Gratz Street and may frequent the area.
Suspect Description:
Suspect #1: Black male, 20 years-of-age, 6’0", beard, wearing a baseball hat, black shirt, black shorts, and armed with a handgun.
Suspect #2: Black male, 20 years-of-age, 5'8", wearing a baseball hat, blue shirt, and shorts.
