If you have been struggling to find a Mud Snake like all of us herpers do at one point, make sure you try this method and you very well may finally end up with a Mud Snake in your hands! Herping for these guys is hard and takes lots of time, effort, and patience but if you add this trick to your arsenal, I guarantee you will stand a much better chance at finding one of these awesome snakes plus Amphiumas and Sirens. After finding a dead one on the road a few days earlier, I was determined to find a live Red Milk Snake in home county before leaving for my month long trip to the Galápagos. I was more than thrilled to see my day long herping expedition pay off with a gorgeous Red Milk Snake plus many more awesome herps!

About a year ago on this day, I found my very first Mud Snake after herping for one for over 3 years. I decided to return to the same spot at the same time of day to test my luck and see if I could pull it off again...

People like to say that they are unsafe if there are venomous snakes in the area. What many people don't realize is that they coexist with them on a daily basis without even knowing they are there. In this video, I show that even in big cities, it is not uncommon that people live right by many venomous and nonvenomous snakes without incident.

The other day, I spent twelve hours herping in the summer heat from 10AM to 10PM. I challenged myself to find as many species as I possibly could in the time I was given. It was a long and hot day full of gnats, mosquitoes, and horse flies, but in the end, I am happy with what all I found. Sit back and take a look at the haul I got!

Alright, so this is the first video from my recent trip to Arkansas! My first stop was to a place very important to me that, by coincidence, also has some of the best herping I've ever experienced. This place is Kia Kima Scout Reservation. Now, a few of the finds in this video were of animals that were already found and being housed in the nature lodge so I decided to stage catching them to make the video more exciting. Nonetheless, I still ended up finding some awesome stuff during my stay so I hope you all enjoy what all I got up in front of the camera!

A few weeks ago, I went on a trip to Arkansas that I had been planning for months. In this trip, I was not only going to look for American Alligators, but I was also going to kayak with them in the water! And that is precisely what I did.
