Xiaomi just launched the Redmi 8A in India. At the launch of the Redmi 8A, Xiaomi India Managing Director and Global VP Manu Jain confirmed the coming of Redmi 8. Jain, however, didn't mention the India launch date of the Redmi 8 but we expect the smartphone to hit the Indian shores very soon. The company has confirmed that the Redmi 8 will be the next Xiaomi phone to launch in India.
In addition to confirming the Redmi 8 India launch Jain also showed the smartphone. In the video, the Redmi 8 appears in Red colour with more than one camera on the back panel. The Redmi 8 appears with two cameras on the back panel. The cameras sit on a black strap on the red coloured rear panel. The video doesn't reveal any other detail about the upcoming Redmi 8.
We expect the Redmi 8 to be a much-upgraded version to the Redmi 7. We also expect India to be the first country to get the Redmi 8 similar to the Redmi 8A. Notably, Redmi 8A is an India first smartphone. In other words, the Redmi 8A is just launched in India for now. The phone will be available in the country for the first time on September 29.
The newly launched Redmi 8A is a big upgrade over the Redmi 7A. The Redmi 8A comes with a refreshed design, massive battery, better cameras and so much more.
The Redmi 8A comes with an Aura wave grip design and packs a 6.22-inch HD display with a dot notch on the top. The phone includes Gorilla Glass 5 protection on the front. The Redmi 8A comes packed with a massive 5000mAh battery with up to 18W fast charging support. The best bit is the Redmi 8A comes with a Type C support.
The Redmi 8A is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 processor paired with up to 32GB of internal storage. The Redmi 8A comes with expandable storage of up to 512GB. On the camera front, the Redmi 8A comes with a 12MP Sony IMX 363 sensor on the back panel that comes paired with dual PD autofocus, AI portrait mode, and AI scene detection. On the front, the Redmi 8A houses an 8MP AI selfie camera. The phone also includes AI face unlock but there's no fingerprint sensor.
